Description
Opus No. 2 of the series entitled Log spiral having as its main characteristic the logarithmic spirals. Handmade with superior acid-free archival paper (hammer finiture).
Log spiral series is based on plane tessellation with log spirals approximated by polygons, and their next 3D extrusion with pyramidal frustums. Different parameters choices for log spirals and extrusion, lead to different Opus of the series. This Opus in detail, is obtained by tessellation of the plane with 13 log spirals, each approximated by 8 polygons. The central part of the work, where all the spirals begin, is approximated by 13 pyramidal polygons arranged in a circle. Parameterization was chosen in such a way to have 13 spirals tessellating the plane, both clockwise and counterclockwise. A unique peculiarity of this work is the effect of concave/convex optical illusion that produces in the observer, very suggestive, depending on the point of view from which the painting is viewed.
